Extra Mile Fiber joined the FTTH Council on April 4, 2014. Membership in the council permits EMF to share industry knowledge, promote industry standards, and assure a healthy regulatory climate for fiber to the home deployment and operation.
The council has many other fiber network operators offering fiber to the home, some at 1gbps to the home. Other members include fiber equipment manufacturers, fiber construction companies, and fiber design consulting firms.
EMF hopes to learn from these other fiber operators to build out fiber to the home in Dayton using best practices and industry standards. Although there is likely many opportunities to have distinct services and features, there is no need to reinvent the wheel.
Working with other companies that are members of the FTTH Council, we can build out the fiber network in the Dayton region faster and better.
Leigh Sandy is the founder of Extra Mile Fiber and has been building and operating networks connected to the Internet since 1995.
