This video produced by Google Fiber uses cars and other transportation to demonstrate the changes over the past 20 years for Internet connectivity.
It all started with dialup and the common modem tones (they play a lullaby with those tones). Many of us can remember the time it took to download music and the busy signals that accompanied dialup back in the late 90s. Then broadband over DSL and cable came along. This was great until the size of files and streaming video still generated quite a bit of wait.
Google Fiber was started in Kansas City, Kansas in 2011 and is now being deployed in almost a dozen metropolitan areas. If Dayton wants fiber to the home, we cannot wait for Google Fiber to come to our community. We can build fiber to the home with gigabit speeds in the greater Dayton region now.
